Just some extra stuff that may be useful. I shall add more when I can.
All comments here are my own opinions and may not necessarily reflect those of others.
First, I've moved the prop mod link here to save space on the Home page as it is quite a 'niche' thing.
There is also a prop mod for the PAI JS31 which will lighten the props in FS9.
When textures are compressed into DXT3 format some colours tend to 'blend' and look fuzzy. This happens when there are lines close together and happens particularly with reds. To avoid this as much as possible textures are saved in 32bit format which is far less compressed than DXT3 and so give a sharper image in the sim.
The downside is the files are 4 times the size so depending on your disk space etc.the choice is yours.
This example is of the JAI Douglas DC-3
Why have you not uploaded recent paints for FSX?
As most AI aircraft are not built to FSX requirements (specular, bump maps etc) they seem to work quite well without being converted to .DDS format.
The exception being the props. This can be mostly overcome by adding a dark 'alpha' to the prop texture. It's not quite the same as they have an odd appearance when flying through clouds, but as AI models are usually seen from a distance, I don't think this is much of a problem.
Why do you add 32bit textures to some of the repaint uploads?
A prop mod for the HTAI BN2 Islander to make the solid prop discs appear better in FSX.
Why don't you include 'Callsign' and 'Parking code' in the .cfg anymore?
Some callsigns I've added to the aircraft.cfg have been wrong or changed, some folk prefer it in uppercase others prefer lowercase.
Parking codes are also subject to change so I felt it best to leave those options for the user to fill in as they wish.
